![]() ![]() I don't remember if details were ever given on how the others came to be trapped in their armors (I believe they were sacrificed for a philosopher's stone, and therefore possibly not trapped in the truth, but still separated from their bodies none the less), but it does seem a bit odd that Greed would have been unaware of them, or of the ones who made them that way. Though now that I think of it, since Greed was originally with the other homonculi and "father", why is it that he had never come in contact with Barry and the other hollow suit of armor brothers from the 5th laboratory? IIRC the 5th laboratory was connected to their main base of operations underneath Central, and both Envy and Lust were aware of the other 2(/3) armor people who guarded it, and even interacted with them. Also, Al hates being a suit of armor, and Ed is trying to get him out throughout the series, so regardless of who the person is, I just don't think Ed would wish that fate on anyone, so in a sense, he's trying to save Greed both from the mistake of human transmutation, and from having to live life as a suit of armor.Īlso, from when I watched it, Greed and his pals didn't initially come across as trustworthy, so I wouldn't have struck any kind of a deal with them, regardless of the repercussions. I'm not sure if Ed would have been able to, or would have known how to bond Al's soul to the armor had his soul not already have been separated and trapped in the truth, meaning for someone else to do it, they would likely have to open a portal to the truth again through human transmutation, which is not something Ed would be encouraging. I think Ed mainly declined the deal because of what bonding Al to the armor involved, and because they were trying to reverse it.
